You were crying in the kitchen of our apartment on the lake
and I asked myself in silence, how much more would you take?
So the Summer passed and we packed our bags, headed south and left behind
the only home I'd sworn I'd ever find.
But where ever you go, I will go
cause your arms are the only home I know.
The winds picked up across some baron Wyoming plane
It was numbingly peaceful, but I loathed it all the same.
On some lonesome stretch of highway rolled out across the state,
on another long haul with a stranger I've come to hate,
I dreamt of waking in our bed, the sunrise creeping through the blinds,
and I held on to that moment to pass some time.
Cause where ever it is I may go,
Your arms are the only home I know
and now years have past, as they do so fast, we've grown old in our humble home.
Our loves been tested, at times neglected, but never abandoned or left out in the cold.
and every crooked path I've chosen, my reckless heart's desire to roam,
your grace and your forgiveness always lead me home.
but when you decide that its time to go,
well you know lover that I will be soon to follow.
cause your arms are my home,
the only one that i know.
you know your arms are the only home I know.
